THE CHILDREN'S CENTER AT PURCHASE COLLEGE

Choosing a childcare center can be a daunting and overwhelming prospect. With more than thirty years of experience behind us, we can answer your questions, provide information and make the process as smooth and effortless a transition as possible for your family.

The Children’s Center at Purchase College provides a stimulating learning experience for children ages eighteen months to five years old. Emphasizing the development of positive self-concept and designed to facilitate each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth, the Center offers toddler and preschool programs in four classrooms.

Our staff are well-educated, nurturing and strive to meet each child’s developmental needs in a group setting.  Each class provides one head teacher, one assistant teacher, and college student assistants.

The Center also serves as a laboratory for students performing internships or practicums observing young children in connection with coursework and independent study.

A board of directors comprised of Purchase College faculty, staff, students, and community parents governs the Center.

We’re open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:15 pm. Full-day programs are available two, three, or five days a week for three calendar periods  (academic, modified, or extended).

Tuition for Purchase College affiliates is based on a sliding scale according to income, and community members pay a flat fee. Although the College provides The Children’s Center with space and maintenance privileges, the Center is totally self-dependent for funding with not-for-profit status.

Please call us or send an email to speak with me or to schedule a tour. We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Sincerely,
